Construction and Readable Poses

I drew characters in poses of my own design (no copying).  I began with the line of action and worked through construction.  John Kricfalusi recommends that I stick with good generic characters like Tom and Jerry, Porky Pig, or Elmar Fudd.  The reason behind constructing my poses from these characters is because they are clean yet solid with minimal complexity.   This means that during the exercise, I will be able to focus on construction and creating my own poses.

A good way to check the pose for readability is to view the negative space.  Block in the silhouette and examine.

I feel that my silhouettes are nice, I paid attention to negative space thus giving my character poses readability.  I am able to understand each pose without being confused.  One thing I am not happy about is my construction.   I need to render out better drawings.
